By The Public Lens
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has urged residents of Budaka to take a cue from successful farmers in their district, citing Kirya Mulonde’s impressive farm as a shining example.
Located in Kilara Village, Kamonkoli Parish, Ikiki Sub-County, Kirya’s farm showcases modern farming techniques that have transformed his five-acre land into a thriving enterprise.
His innovative approaches to fish farming, poultry, piggery, and goat farming demonstrate how small landholders can build sustainable wealth.
President Museveni, currently on a performance assessment tour for the Parish Development Model (PDM) in the Bukedi sub-region, praised Kirya’s dedication to wealth creation through modern farming.
The President likened Kirya to the biblical parable of seeds sown in fertile soil, emphasizing his success as an inspiration to others.
Kirya’s annual profits are staggering: 120 million Ugandan shillings from fish farming, 65.5 million from poultry, and 53.4 million from pig farming. His goat and cattle business adds an additional 6 million Ugandan shillings in profits each year.
