Strengthening Historic Ties: UK Envoy Celebrates Uganda Partnership

UK High Commissioner to Uganda, H.E. Lisa Chesney, has expressed pride in serving as the custodian of the longstanding historical relations between the United Kingdom and Uganda.
Chesney emphasized the importance of these ties and her commitment to fostering them further during a meeting with General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda Peoples’ Defense Forces, at her residence in Nakasero.
Having completed her first month in the role, Chesney described her reception in Uganda as the warmest welcome of her diplomatic career.
The bilateral relationship between the UK and Uganda is built on various collaborative initiatives, including the training of Ugandan officers at the prestigious Sandhurst military academy.
Chesney thanked General Kainerugaba, a proud Sandhurst alumnus, for his role in ensuring military cooperation between the two countries.
The UK and Uganda’s partnership is characterized by mutual cooperation, with the UK actively supporting Uganda’s development priorities in sectors ranging from education to security.
