Final Farewell for Hon. Onapito Ekomoloit: Official Burial Set for November 30

The late Hon. Onapito Ekomoloit, former Presidential Press Secretary and Member of Parliament for Amuria County, will be laid to rest on November 30, 2024, in Amuria District.
This announcement was made by Minister for Presidency and Chairperson of the National Organising Committee, Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda.
A meeting between the family, lawyer, and National Organising Committee agreed to follow the deceased’s will, which specified burial after 60 days.
Hon. Onapito had wished to be buried in a tomb, and the extended timeline will allow for its construction.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has granted Hon. Onapito an official burial.
The National Organising Committee, family, and Parliament will provide updates on final arrangements in early November.
Hon. Onapito passed away on September 27, 2024, at Kampala Hospital after a short illness.
He was a renowned veteran journalist and a prominent figure in Uganda’s political and media spheres.
The burial will be a dignified sendoff for Hon. Onapito, honoring his contributions to the nation.
