The Ugandan male entered Uganda from Bukoba, Tanzania via a porous border. He is currently staying at home with his parents and efforts to evacuate him to Masaka RRH and quarantine his parents are underway.
However, over half of the confirmed cases have recovered from the deadly disease.
Earlier the Ministry of Health had revealed that it had cordoned off Masindi Police barracks after one of the officers charged with implementing curfew tested positive to Coronovirus.
The Masindi case is a 29 year old police man who was incharge of enforcing curfew in the district. He was residing in the police barracks at the time of test. He has since been admitted to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital. The police barracks have been cordoned off to curb spread of COVID-19,” it tweeted.
The Ministry of Health also revealed that it has embarked on massive hunt for all the patients and their contacts to curtail spread of Coronovirus in the country.”

On Friday Ministry of Health revealed that Uganda had registered two new COVID-19 cases;a 35 year old Kenyan male truck driver who arrived via Busia border and a Ugandan male from Masindi District, who was confirmed from the rapid assessment survey, making him the first community spread case after a prolonged foreign cases from truck drivers in both Kenya and Tanzania.
The development comes at the time the country is on high alert, expecting President Yoweri Museveni to announce new measures after 21 days lockdown expires on Tuesday.
