The incumbent Mayuge District LC 5 Chairman has again been declared by the NRM Electoral commission as winner in the recent Primaries once again to contest for the seat as the party’s flag bearer for the 2021 general elections.
This however does not mean that he is automatically sailing to his intended third term as effortlessly as it has always been for the past two terms.
This time round, he is headed for a real tassel for his seat by the re-emergency of a very highly sophisticated contender for the same seat Pr. Kyeyamwa Aggrey an NRM leaning independent candidate.
Without any doubts as pundits have it “definitely, he will have to sweat, desperately dish money to electorates, in a bid to sway their support as he has always been doing” and of course it won’t be easy for his competitors to the seat as well who will be doing the same, maybe.
According to the Uganda Independent Electoral Commission, a body mandated to organize and manage polls in the country, the 2021 polls will be held in February.
With no road-map and directives issued as yet by the commission for candidates to start campaigning, the majority of the contenders have already started using professional means to mobilize and create public awareness about their candidatures and potentialities.
In Mayuge District the politician who has already shown interest and is bound to give the current Mayuge LC 5 boss sleepless nights and who is likely to out rightly send him back to the management of his religious sect is the Senior Auditor, Real Estate business man and Pastor a one Pr.Kyeyamwa Aggrey Augustine Kabwedhe.
Kyeyamwa a born and resident of Magamaga Town Council is a Politician by passion, who has an exceptional love for Rural Development and Community Mobilization plus care giving to the elderly and the needy.
Kyeyamwa Aggrey, as established by the Public Lens is a devoted servant of God. He is the Pastor of Blessed Nations worship center in Nansana in Wakiso District and currently serves as the Public relations officer of the United Born Again Characters Outreach; a vibrant Pastors Fellowship in Wakiso District.
This Publication also found out that Kyeyamwa is an Auditor who works with Abet and Company Certified Public Accountants in Kampala City and he is a Senior Auditor who but also deals in Real Estate business.
He is also the founder of Aggrey Kyeyamwa Foundation which currently offers hundreds of bursaries for Certificate, Diploma and Degree courses at its Magamaga office.
In real terms, Kyeyamwa is a seasoned politician who has always been in leadership right from his school days.
He joined active politics in 2005 on the return of multiparty politics in Uganda and contested for the seat of a District Councilor of Wairasa Electoral Area (current Wirasa subcounty) in Mayuge District but was declared to have lost.
Not allowing himself to be thwarted by the District Councillor electoral defeat that he suffered against Aminsi Ndhote, he chose to participate in 2005 the first NRM party”s Primaries for the District LC 5 seat against Ikoba Baker Tigawalana the former and first Chairman of Mayuge District which he lost. This was Uganda’s first multiparty election since the return to multipartism.
Again not thwarted by the defeat in 2005 Pr. Kyeyamwa bounced back again in 2016 and this time contested as the Forum Democratic Change’s Flag bearer for the LC 5 seat of Mayuge District which he lost again!.
It was baffling to the ordinary mind how and from where Mr.Kyeyamwa acquires the fortitude and resilience to keep returning to the political field in which he has sustained several political losses and electoral defeats!
It was until recently when this website scouted and had our first encounter with him that we realized what crop of politician Kyeyamwa is and felt the need for Mayuge District electorate to pay attention to the words of this sharp minded intellectual and give him a try.
With a deep political thought and philosophy which incessantly keeps pushing him irresistibly forward he philosophically infers ” I have never been defeated nor robbed of an election because the electoral process in Mayuge and Busoga is largely non issue based WILL REMAIN ON THE STAGE UNTIL I acquire the opportunity to engineer our peoples mindset that is why I’M UN BOTHERED BY THE SO CALLED DEFEATS OR LOSSES”!
Further unraveling his yet undiscovered philosophical political prowess Kyeyamwa contends that “Leadership is about managing the people’s divergent interests and views with the aim of collectively moving to the next level as a society”
He further suggests that there is a failure by the current leaders to realize that “the primary role of a leader is loving the people whom God has appointed him to govern and organize”.
“To me leadership is about reminding others that our main business on earth is the exploitation of the natural resources and potential on earth for the benefit of humanity. I view leadership as the highest form of serving God,” the aspirant puts it.
He adds. “I view Leadership as the personal acceptance that man is an instrument of God for the love of humanity.”
Kyeyamwa who has widely travelled, and even lived in USA for some time said he has got various International connections that can be beneficial to the District.
“I come with a sense of vigor to change the political landscape of Mayuge District especially changing the mindset. the way we see things. This is an ideal which I have pursued since 2005 to date,” he said.
He added that he has come this time round come with an overriding sense of creativity to address the political and economic down turns of the district and is ready,willing and capable of turning the district into a bastion of peace through conceiving inbuilt conflict resolution mechanisms.
Kyeyamwa has also promised to do everything possible to restore the glory of former great Bunha sub county/Principality and endeavor to turn the fertile district into a model agricultural district which will provide food to the rest of the country.
“I intend to turn the District into a food basket of Uganda and the East African Sub region and reinvigorate the beauty of the fishing industry through engagement, he added.
Turning to the environmental concerns he feels there is a great need to address the restoration of the abused natural endowments of the district and at the same time revolutionize the Healthy and Education sectors at all levels.
He at the same time emphasized the tapping of the very rich and enviable tourist potential of the district and harness the partnership of Madhivani and other sugar operators and the farmers. He believes this will attract other agro processing investors into the District.
“I am annoyed that the current leadership in Mayuge District does not seem to appreciate the divine value of governmental power which was handed to them by God to serve others. Therefore to make a difference I have come with a sense of love for the people since I intend to become champion for their cause to hand down to them hope and assurance,” he said.
Kyeyamwa who is proud to be a born again preacher emphasized that he will not only be a Chairman of the District but Chairman of the people’s hearts.
“I will employ my theological background to unite all faiths and creeds along the line of faith for positive living,” he said.
He as well highlighted that one of his main intentions is to break the spirit of indifference of the Local Government leaders which causes them to neglect the social contract they sign with the citizens on assuming leadership.
