Lango Chief Receives New Vehicle from President Museveni

State House Comptroller, Jane Barekye, has during a colourfull ceremony attended by Lango leaders at Lira Mayor’s garden handed over a brand new vehicle to the Paramount Chief of Lango.
While handing over the vehicle to Chief Yosam Odur Ebii on Saturday February 24, Barekye hailed the Lango cultural institution and the entire community for their support to President Museveni and said the vehicle was in fulfillment of a pledge that had been in the past made by the president.
“This vehicle worth over 400,000 Million Ugandan shillings has been given by President Museveni to the Paramount Chief in fulfillment of a past pledge.” she said, We believe that the vehicle will be of great benefit to this chief who is preparing for his retirement at the end of this year.”
Denis Hamsom Obua, the government chief whip who also attended the function assured the clan leaders present that the president is in the near future going to fulfill all the pledges he made in Lango and urged them to strongly mobilize their communities and encourage them to embrace government wealth creation programs.
The Member of Parliament for Lira City Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, assured the clan leaders that she will always be available to support the cultural institution of Lango regardless of whoever will succeed Mzee Yosam Odur Ebii as a new Paramount Chief of Lango.
She called for unity among the people of Lango and implored them to accord respect to Mzee Yosam Odur Ebii as he prepares for retirement.
“We all have a duty to love and promote our culture and my appeal is that let us unite and work together as a team for the development of our tribe.” she said.
