Iran And Uganda Pave Way For Strengthening Bilateral Ties

The Ambassador of Iran to Uganda H.E. Masid Saffar, has paid a courtesy visit to the Police Headquarters in Naguru with the aim of strengthening the bilateral relationship between his country and Uganda.
The ambassador whose intentions are also aimed at enhancing cooperation in various areas between Uganda and Iran was received at the Police Headquarters by the Inspector General of Police, Abbas Byakagaba.
According to a statement released by the police, the meeting held on June 18, 2024, between the two counterparts focused on potential areas of collaboration between the two countries, including law enforcement and security.
“The Iranian Ambassador expressed Iran’s commitment to working closely with the Ugandan authorities to address shared concerns and explore mutually beneficial initiatives,” the statement reads in part.
The Inspector General, on the other hand, welcomed the visit and emphasised Uganda’s openness to expanding cooperation with Iran in relevant fields.
The statement further highlighted ways to strengthen the existing ties between Iran and Uganda, particularly in the realm of public safety and security.
“The meeting was seen as a positive step towards fostering deeper understanding and collaboration between the two nations, particularly in the areas of law enforcement and security,” the statement reads in part.
Both sides expressed their enthusiasm to explore further avenues of partnership and to build upon the existing foundation of bilateral relations.
