Uganda and India Strengthen Ties through Forensic Science and Yoga

The National Forensic Sciences University (India) – Uganda Campus has celebrated International Yoga Day, highlighting the strong bond between Uganda and India.
Air Commodore Kedar Thaakar, the university’s director, praised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his dedication to fostering relations between the two nations.
“We thank the President of Uganda for his good relationship with the government of India, who accepted the idea of starting up a National Forensic Sciences University Uganda campus,” Air Commodore Thaakar said.
Air Commodore Thaakar made the remarks today while officiating at the celebrations at the National Forensic Sciences University (India) Uganda Campus – Gaddafi Barracks, Jinja district.
He went ahead and said that the Campus aspires to achieve its objective of instilling forensic culture and promoting knowledge and expertise in using forensic techniques and technologies amongst Police, Defence Forces, Judiciary, prosecutors, security agencies, and associated departments.
He added that the University is not only for security personnel but equally accommodates all students, not limited from Uganda but from all over the world.
Brig Gen Peter Geatano Omola, Commandant of the Uganda Rapid Deployment Centre, commended the governments for their cordial relationship, promoting development.
He encouraged yoga participation, citing its physical, mental, and spiritual benefits.
The event brought together officials from Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces, militants, and university staff, showcasing the partnership’s positive impact.
