African Monarchs Endorse President Museveni’s Enduring Leadership
By The Public Lens
A delegation of over ten African kings and cultural leaders has expressed their admiration for President Yoweri Museveni’s leadership, advising him not to relinquish power.
His Royal Majesty King Amenya Fiti V, the paramount king of the Aflao in Ghana, led the delegation, which included monarchs from Nigeria, Togo, and Benin.
King Amenya Fiti praised President Museveni’s leadership, comparing Uganda’s roads favorably to those in Ghana.
He suggested that President Museveni should emulate African kings who do not easily give up power, a sentiment that received applause from the audience.
The Bamasaba cultural leader, His Highness Jude Mike Mudoma, hosted the delegation, which was impressed by the reception they received.
The spokesperson for the Bamasaba cultural institution, Masiga Stevenmasiga, noted that the visiting African kings made their views on President Museveni’s leadership potential known in both private and public discourses.
Stevenmasiga added that Ugandan kings and cultural leaders present applauded the visiting monarchs for their comments on President Museveni’s leadership potential.
However, he clarified that Uganda’s municipal law does not allow cultural leaders to recommend an extended political tenure for President Museveni.
Such submissions could be considered an affront to Article 246, which discourages cultural leaders from openly praising political leaders.
Despite this, many cultural leaders present found King Amenya’s statements to be wise and fitting, according to Masiga.
The endorsement by African monarchs highlights President Museveni’s enduring leadership and the admiration he commands from his peers.
