Retiring Soldiers Urged to Beware of Pension Scams

Non-Commissioned Officers due for retirement have been urged to be vigilant and on the lookout against people waiting to rob them of their pension and gratuity by luring them to get involved in various projects.
The soldiers are expected to be retired at the end of this month.
The call was made by the Deputy Director in charge of Pensions, Lt Col Onesmus Amanya during the ongoing documentation and sensitisation exercise of Non-Commissioned Officers from the Air Force, Special Forces Command, Jinja, and Magamaga Cantonment in Gadaffi Barracks, Jinja.
He encouraged them to support one another, particularly during difficult times such as funeral expenses, fostering a spirit of comradeship and mutual assistance to help each other progress.
Lt Col Amanya addressed reassured the retirees that the payment process has improved, ensuring timely and hassle-free disbursements without unnecessary intermediaries.
