Museveni Urges Ugandans to Leverage Kapeeka Industrial Park for Economic Growth

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has called upon communities surrounding Kapeeka Industrial Park to capitalize on the opportunities available to boost their household incomes and market their products .
He made this remark while opening a two-day trade fair at Namunkekera Agro Processing Limited in Kapeeka, Nakaseke District, expressing gratitude to Gen. Salim Saleh for securing land for investment, leading to the establishment of the industrial park .
The President also acknowledged the investors who responded positively to his call to invest in Uganda, recognizing their significant role in the country’s economic growth.
During the event, farmers requested financial support for their SACCO amounting to UGX 4.4 billion to increase production capacity.
President Museveni addressed the issue of land conflicts, assuring veterans that no one will be forcibly evicted from their land and pledged to meet with Gen. Salim Saleh to resolve the disputes .
Vice President Jessica Alupo commended Kapeeka Industrial Park for supporting Uganda’s import substitution efforts and creating trade opportunities.
She acknowledged the investors’ contribution to economic transformation and praised Gen. Salim Saleh for his patriotic spirit in executing the President’s vision for the industrial park.
Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Francis Mwebesa lauded President Museveni for championing industrialization, driving Uganda’s economic development.
Minister of State for Luwero Triangle and Rwenzori Region Alice Kaboyo underscored Kapeeka’s historical significance, transformed from a war zone to an industrial hub under President Museveni’s visionary leadership.
Minister of State for Investment and Privatization Evelyn Anite attributed Uganda’s positive economic trajectory to President Museveni’s leadership, urging Ugandans to support local products through the Buy Uganda, Build Uganda (BUBU) initiative.
Anite highlighted that this initiative increases national revenue and creates jobs, citing Kapeeka Industrial Park’s employment of over 15,000 people, significantly reducing unemployment.
