President Museveni Commends Karamoja Residents for Embracing Peace and Development

Lokong shared his story of transformation, from earning a monthly income of Shs. 80,000 to becoming a successful piggery farmer with 22 pigs.
“Apparently, I have 22 pigs, including 12 piglets, present, and if I sell the mature ones at Shs. 400,000 each, I can get Shs. 8,800,000,” Lokong said.
The President praised Lokong’s vision and encouraged him to continue working hard to achieve his goals.
Nakapiripirit District Veterinary Officer, Simon Peter Arionga, also commended Lokong’s efforts, stating that “as a technical person, I can say that Emmanuel is a farmer with a good vision destined for success.”
The President’s visit to Karamoja is part of his ongoing assessment of the PDM program’s impact in various regions.
He emphasized the importance of wealth creation and encouraged the residents to focus on production and development.
The President also highlighted the potential of irrigation and value addition in enhancing agricultural production in the region.
