President Yoweri Museveni has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Pope Francis, the revered spiritual leader of the Catholic Church, who passed away at the age of 88 in his residence at the Vatican.
The Pope succumbed to a stroke and heart failure, according to the Vatican.
“It is with profound sadness that I have received the news of the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis,” President Museveni stated.
On behalf of the Government and the people of Uganda, President Museveni extended his deepest condolences to the Catholic Church worldwide.
President Museveni described Pope Francis as an extraordinary spiritual leader and a highly respected theologian.
The Pope’s commitment to the faith revitalized the Church’s mission in an increasingly secular world.
