MUSEVENI DIRECTS CABINET ON JOBS AND WEALTH CREATION

President Yoweri Museveni has urged cabinet to emphasise government’s strategy of improving people’s livelihoods through the parish model approach to administer all ongoing wealth creation projects.

Information Minister, Ms. Judith Nabakooba while communicating cabinet  decisions  said that President Museveni noted that homesteads need to be guided on how to engage in homestead-based interventions that bring about immediate improvement in livelihoods and food security.

Nabakooba said that the President directed cabinet to encourage all individuals with land to engage in commercial agriculture. “With a target of 7 million commercial farmers and each farmer employing about 5 people, the country will be able to realise its targets for livelihood improvement,” Nabakooba quoted the President as saying .
