Resort to Traditional Sanitary Pads; – Bishop Tells School Girls
By The Public Lens
The Bishop of Busoga Diocese the Rgt Dr. Rev. Samson Naimanhe Mukembo has called upon mothers to teach and encourage their daughters to resort to the traditional methods of using the locally available sanitary pads.
The Bishop decried the increasing number of girls dropping out of school simply because their parents cannot afford to provide them with scientific sanitary pads.
“These girls should be informed that their Mothers grew up without using scientific sanitary pads. The young generation should copy and use what their mothers used to do”, he said.
The bishop made the remarks while presiding over a thanks giving function at Pilkington College-Muguluka as Parents, teachers, students and well wishers were celebrating last year’s good Performance.
The Jinja District Education Officer, Paul Balirainhe Mugaaju condemned parents for taking their children to Kampala city schools instead of developing schools in their communities.
“why do you over stress yourselves with the high cost in Kampala city schools leaving these locally available schools offering the same or even better than those in Kampala education yet at a comparatively very low cost?” he queried.
The School headteacher Mulaala Peter attributed the school good performance on success the joint effort by the Bishop, Teachers and the political wing.
In a special way he commended the outstanding effort by Hon. Katali Loy for consistently providing free scientific Mathematical sets and other scholastic materials to the pupils.
