Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, the Senior Presidential Advisor and Head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), has issued a stern warning to “NRM cartels” plotting to destabilize Uganda ahead of the 2026 elections.
Speaking during a media engagement, Namyalo cautioned that the ruling party is aware of internal groups who believe they can act with impunity to undermine both the National Resistance Movement and national stability.
“There is a cartel of people in NRM who always want to portray that they have a lot of power,” she said.
“These are the people disorganizing the party, and they have plans to destabilize the country ahead of 2026, but we are aware.”
The ONC boss stressed that while internal disagreements are normal in any political organization, the ONC will not tolerate elements that manipulate party structures or exploit government resources for personal gain.
She reiterated her commitment to exposing individuals she accuses of betraying the party and the trust of President Yoweri Museveni.
Namyalo cited her previous clash with social commentator Frank Gashumba as an example of her readiness to confront what she calls “opportunists.”
The remarks come as NRM intensifies preparations for its internal primaries and the nomination of President Museveni as flag bearer for the next election cycle.
Namyalo’s warning suggests that the party is taking steps to address potential threats to stability and unity within the party.
The ONC’s actions are likely to have significant implications for the party’s internal dynamics and the country’s political landscape.
