Ssemujju Nganda and opposition are not better than President Museveni- Andrew Mwenda
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Andrew Mwenda a veteran journalist and Managing editor of Independent Magazine has said that the Kira Municipality MP Ssemujju.I Nganda and other opposition politicians in Uganda are not better than President Yoweri Museveni.

He said last night during a talk show at NBS TV in Kampala, that Ssemujju and other politicians fighting to remove President Museveni from power have nothing much or better to offer only want to come and do self-aggrandizement.

Pointing his hands at Ssemujju Mwenda said “these opposition Politicians fighting President Museveni want to come and paste what he is doing, I don’t see much of want they intend to offer if they got chance to replace him”

Mwenda’s assertion implies that if the Ssemujju’s of this world got chance to lead Uganda could get things to even worse.

Mwenda also lashed at the Civil society organizations in Uganda and likenedthem to small NGO’s of international community and especially attacked the Inter- Religious Council of (ICRU) for not being independent and democratic.

Andrew Mwenda a veteran journalist and Managing editor of Independent Magazine

“I always do not understand why Africans want to depend on foreign aid and donations, why can’t IRCU fund its self. It is only reduced to an international small NGO for Bazugu” he added.

Mwenda said such un independent organizations such as IRCU serve the interests of foreigners and report abroad when they should be accountable to Ugandans if there are genuine and relevant..

Ssemujju and Mwenda were hosted by a Sober Sabiiti and  also in attendance was Ofwono Opondo a frontliner of the Talk show and Uganda Media Centre boss. Mwenda and Opondo submerged Ssemujju and reduced him to a political dwarf since he did not have much to say to discredit government among his seniors.

Mwenda qualified his assertions when he said the opposition leaders especially NUPs boss Robert Kyagulanu nicknamed Bobi Wine and FDC’s Presidential candidate Patrick Amuriat for disregarding ministry of Health guidelines on Covid 19 and the SOP’s in their campaign rallies which is a threat to the health of the population.

Kira Municipality MP Ssemujju.I Nganda

“How can u tell me you are a serious opposition leader (leader in waiting) better than President Museveni when you do not care about the health of the population and can trigger a mass infection of Covid 19 by careless political rallies?” Mwenda asked.

Mwenda said he had lost some close relatives and others were admitted with Covid19.

Opondo said Sssemujju had recently said that he would convene a political rally of 4000 people just to fight government in observing SOPs which shows how insensitive he(Ssemujju) is to Covid19 pandemic.

Ssemujju said Mwenda had changed from the critical journalist he knew but Mwenda answered back saying President Museveni had registered reasonable achievements.

Ssemujju although an FDC senior leader has of late turned into a sympathizer of Kyagulanyi and wants to speak and defend NUP’s boss. It is believed he feared a NUP’s wave in Kampala and some parts of Wakiso could sweep him off the political scene.

The mouth power MP some days ago attacked a minister in a TV program and also criticized President Museveni’s address on the riots.

He (Ssemujju) a Munyarwanda looking legislator had hinted on contesting in his home area of Lwengo district but discarded the ideal when he realized that it could bury his political career. He therefore appeals for sympathy from NUP for his survival.

Opondo said Police will not deter in its enforcement of SOPs during political rallies and advised the opposition leaders to comply or be crashed by Police. At least 50 people died in the recent riots in Kampala which was prompted by the arrest of Kyagulanyi.
